My name is Amy Sandelman Harris and yes, my hair has always been a major defining characteristic of mine. The freckles are too. But I am a lot more than just hair and skin.
Like all Women of a Certain Age, I have passions, curiosities, opinions, and core values. You don’t have to be any specific age to be included in this group, you just need to be independent and have life experience.
If you do, you will find my blog to be both informative and entertaining.
If you have any ideas for topics or have questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you.
About Me – My Background
I have been married to the same man for more than 36 years. Coming from a dysfunctional family of divorced parents, aunts, and uncles this is a major milestone for me. More surprisingly we are each other’s best friends and enjoy doing a lot of the same things like playing golf, working out, binging movies and show on various streaming services, and lounging on a beach chair in the sand soaking up the rays.
Together we have 2 kids and a Goldendoodle named Lola. We make family first in our lives. When we all get together there is a ton of laughter.
Lola’s personality meshes extremely well with all of ours. She is athletic, high-energy, loves to cuddle, and humorous.
About Me – Professional Experience
Before I became a blogger, content creator, or influencer I was a sales exec primarily in the advertising space. I worked for world-renowned magazines and websites and it was all very glamorous. You can read all about it here.
About Me – Current State of Affairs
Now at the age of 62, I have traded my professional life to focus on giving back. I was fortunate enough to have had a well-paying career and feel a duty to help those in need. The three charities where I volunteer are Reveal 2 Heal – therapeutic services for families in need, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey – which helps to feed the 800,000 people who are food insecure in New Jersey. I am also active in the New Jersey Harm Reduction Center which seeks to provide services to addicts to try and save their lives. In 2020 over 1,000,000 dies of drug overdoses because of added Fentanyl. You can read more about our work here.
In addition to giving back, and spending time with my family I plan to get better at golf and see more of the world for cultural enjoyment, relaxation, and purposeful travel to help to make life better in third-world countries.
